Waiting for Godot
En Attendant Godot

Samuel Beckett

This work one inevitably runs into when whilst enamoured with the Theatre of the Absurd. I believe the first time I read it was on loan from my high school's library.

It strikes very differently depending on how one reads it. When my only access to it was reading the stage play in a book, I honestly thought of it as a work of comedy. Sadly, such impressions don't hold up when watching it performed as a play.

Later on in undergrad, I got access to Beckett's Endgame which I vaguely understood to be a similar work to Godot. Though, it went completely over my head.
