Cute, Quaint, Hungry, and Romantic: The Aesthetics of Consumerism

Daniel Harris

One of my favourite works of essay in English. Despite the subtitle, it is not an academic work, nor is it your usual marketing study. Its frighteningly objective viewpoint can strike fear into what was previously the ordinary. Defining the right voice to read this book in is a difficult choice to make, though my preferred method is to read it with a stifling and ominous feeling of dread.
