When I was younger, I had developed an irrational fear of most forms of commercial advertising. In my mad dash, I started to down many books on the subject in hopes that I might overcome my paranoid fears. ... or, perhaps with the hope of learning some crippling weakness that would make render all commercial advertising null and void, freeing the world from its corrupting grip! (One or the other, probably.)

Sad to say, I was not successful. At all.
