Exercises in Style

Raymond Queneau, Barbra Wright

One of the seminal works in l'Ouvroir de Littérature Potentielle. Like most things Oulipo, it risks falling prey to the usual temptations of style over substance, yet the sheer breadth Queneau is able to cover in his mad quest is highly impressive, even in translation.

One of the few positive things I left my dire undergrad seminars with.
