– Benjamin Renner
En français. Saw bits and pieces of it here and there over the internet, eventually tracking the full of it down. At the time there was no English edition, but my tenuously Canadian understanding of French actually enabled me to read most of it, even if its actual francophone intention is for people far younger than I am.
I adored this book, and even entertained the idea of translating it into English. However, while I was pondering the idea, a major publishing house in New York eventually beat me to that particular punch. It was probably to be expected, as an animated film was supposedly already in the works at the time, with an English-language voice cast already selected.
Though because of my supposed impertinence towards the machinations of the publishing industry, I feel strangely disinclined to ever bother reading the actual English edition.
